Abstract

The great public figure, ethnographer, writer, and translator Tedo Sakhokia, during a trip to Upper Adjara in August 1897, spent the first night after Khulo with others in Furtio (in the family of Kadi Efendi Beridze; p. 261); The second night - in Oladauri (in the family of Emin Efendi Kartsivadze; p. 266) 1. Passengers departed from Oladauri to Chirukha in 1 day; Passed villages: Oladauri, Makhalaketi (Makhalakidzes), Shubani, Tomasheti, Darchidzes, Tselati. Then, through Tokhauri and Guzlieti, they went up to Chirukh, on one side of which were the agars of the Shubani community (Adjarans), and on the other side were the Jinales (Shavshelis). Here, they spent the third night in one of the ravines of Chirukhi-Jinali.

The great ethnographer, lexicographer, and public figure Tedo Sakhokia and his companions moved from Chirukhi (and not - Matskvalti pastures!) To Skhalta gorge; On the way, they saw two beautiful lakes (Shratiani Lake and Karagoli) and spent three nights (fourth, fifth and sixth) at the Khimshiashvilis’ summer cottage in Sarichair (p. 278).

On the last day, they visited the beauty of Skhalta gorge - Khikhani and spent the seventh night at the Khimshiashvili bar cottage - Kochaki (p. 288). On the eighth day t. Sakhokia recorded ethnographic material and stayed in Khikhadziri for the eighth night (p. 202). Sakhokia arrived in Skhalta via Kvatia; And from there to Tago, where he spent the ninth night.

On the tenth day, he returned to Khulo (cf. T. Sakhokia writes on page 305 that it took him a week to travel from Khulo to Khulo; in fact, it took him 10 days to travel from Khulo to Khulo). From these 10 days, the travelers spent only 2 days on the very interesting road from Oladauri to Sarichaira. During this period, T. Sakhokia did not have time at all to record ethnographic and onomastic material (for example, he had time to make scientific records in Furtio, Oladauri, Sarichair, Khikhadziri ... where he stayed for a few days, or even spent 1 night with his family).
